The ART TOPIA landscape consruction firm has, since 2002, been located in the edges of the Versailles plains. The construction of a new works site has been led by ideas of sustainable development. The heart of the architectural project is a search for an economic management system of resources and means, which manifests itself by : the location of the building on a rock-based site in order to preserve agricultural land, the decision to use rationalised building forms, the implementation of a simple system of construction and recyclable materials, research into the integration in the site without renouncing contemporary architectural expression whilst using eco-friendly materials (timber framing and cladding, vegetalised roofing...), giving thought to water management systems by the creation of storm water tanks and the filtering and re-use of rainwater. The brief brings together office accommodation, warehouse buildings, workshops and garage space. The buildings are organised around a square 8000 m2 courtyard which allows for distribution of the various functions. A 500 m2 rainwater recuperation and filtration system occupies the central position of the circulation space.
